A wireless networking company whose hardware is managed through software that had grown complicated and inconsistent. I evaluated the system, interviewed experts, and proposed the design direction that made it usable, outdoors included.

Problem

Complicated software, expensive support, lost contracts.

Solution

A light theme for the field, and a catalog that sells the UI.

After a system evaluation against UX heuristics and expert interviews, I proposed a design system with a light theme for outdoor use, reduced-interaction controls, and clearer system feedback.

A products catalog presents each hardware item alongside its UI, giving sales a way to show the interfaces, not just describe them.

Process

An audit that showed, not told: before and after, side by side.

The heuristic audit was delivered as direct comparisons. For each key screen, the existing interface next to the proposed standard, on the actual devices. Stakeholders did not have to imagine the improvement; they could see it.
